People for People Foundation (P4P) is a collective of entrepreneurs joining forces to get as many people affected by the Russia-Ukraine war to safety. Here’s what happened last week.
People for People has partnered up with Movement on the Ground to support Ukrainian children in need in Northern Poland. We donated €10K for furniture for a playground and they are now looking for volunteers willing to organise sports activities for 120 Ukrainian kids under 18. Here you can apply for the vacancy: https://peopleforpeople.recruitee.com/
Kids from Zaporizhzhya will get some sweets from Tony's Chocolonely, People for People, and LifeLine Ukraine.
The first batch of choco from Tony's Chocolonely has already been delivered at Lifeline's warehouse. The next stop is Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia, right near Mariupol. Our partners from LifeLine Ukraine are doing miracles: deliver one truck with humanitarian aid per week.
Joris Beckers (co-founder), Jesse van der Meulen (foundation director), and Anna Tian (Head of Communications from Kyiv) joined Dutch Startup Drinks to share what is happening in Ukraine and received much support from a crowd of 150 startups, scaleups & VCs. The event resulted in receiving over €5.500 in donations from Mollie, 15 new partner applications, 12 new community members and Alina Andresiuk (Ukrainian) from Mollie has joined the P4P team. Many thanks to the Dutch Startup Association, Startup Network Europe, and Mollie for an essential and well-organized event!
Our co-founder Ali shared his personal story: how he experienced war firsthand. And explained his view on what is happening in Ukraine right now and why he can't sit and watch in times like these.
We help our foundation partners to find volunteers to join their organizations and increase their impact. Last week 2 volunteers joined On My Way Ukraine, our foundation partner, which does such great work in transporting needed goods to Ukraine and bringing people to safety in The Netherlands.
Partner bunq helped open 5300 more bank accounts (during the last two months) after collaborating with several Dutch municipalities. Moreover, in collaboration with the bunq and the People for People Foundation, the first bank accounts have been opened for people affected by war who have no or no valid ID but have a BSN number and an identity certificate from the Ukrainian embassy. As a result, Social Services Drechtsteden can now provide living money for almost all people in need. In addition, people can go to work because they receive salaries and take out health insurance.
People for People will participate in the TNW Conference on June 16-17 in Amsterdam. The audience will be around 10,000 European startups, corporates, and governments - all in some way will be behind the People for People's efforts in helping those affected. More info about this collaboration will be shared soon.
To increase our impact we need more companies and people to join our mission to support as many people affected by the Ukrainian war. If you or someone you know is willing to help donate to the foundation (in goods, money donations, or any other way), please contact them directly at https://peopleforpeople.info.
About People for People
People for People Foundation is a growing entrepreneurial movement joining forces to get as many people affected by the Ukrainian war to safety as possible. We match people and foundations in need with companies that can fulfill these needs. We enable organizations such as Movement On The Ground, Takecarebnb, OpenEmbassy, FastLaneUkraine, On My Way UA, Netherlands for Ukraine and Lifeline Ukraine to increase their impact.
To maximize the positive impact of our initiative, foundation 'Stichting People for People' was founded by Joris Beckers (Picnic), Robert Vis (Messagebird) and Ali Niknam (bunq). Pieter Jan Krevel and Jesse van der Meulen (Aimforthemoon) have been appointed as co-directors of the foundation. A team of 50+ volunteers have joined the organization so far to support our mission.
After already receiving thousands of requests for help, we continuously identify the most urgent issues to help people and foundations in Ukraine, neighboring countries and those who arrive in the Netherlands.
